If you are a foreign student, you will be able to do a student exchange at the Universidad Autónoma de Chile.

First, you must confirm with the International Relations Office of your home university if your University has a student exchange agreement with our University.

How can I apply?

  1. Visit the international affairs office at your home university to express your intention of going on exchange.
  2. If you meet your university’s requirements, you will be nominated to participate in the exchange program to internacional@uautonoma.cl
  3. After your nomination, UA will send you an application form to be completed before a deadline.

What are the requirements to apply?

Foreign students must meet the followig requirements:

  1. They must be a regular student from an institution with signed agreement with UA.
  2. They must be students at least in their 5th semester at the moment of starting their exchange.
  3. They must be 18 years-old or older.
  4. They must remain enrolled in their home institution as a regular student.
  5. They must have a B1 level of Spanish.
  6. They must have a medical insurance that meets Chilean requirements.
  7. They must be informed about and abide by Chilean regulations regarding migration and sanitary restrictions.

FAQ

Universidad Autónoma de Chile does not require a language test to come to study. However, proficient Spanish is required to attend classes, as all classes are taught in Spanish.

The university has 4 campuses throughout the country: Providencia and El Llano Subercaseaux (both located in Santiago which is our capital city), Talca campus and Temuco campus. You will need to review the degree programs offered at each campus.

Fall semester begins in March and ends in July. Spring semester begins in August and ends in December.

Yes, our buddy program is called Partners UA. This group has the mission to support foreign students’ integration to university life. They will also provide you with information about the city and cultural aspects of our country.

Yes, it is mandatory to have a valid medical insurance that meets Chilean sanitary regulations, and that covers repatriation, medical emergencies and out-patient consultations.
